Melissa Parhm, MFA

Melissa Parhm is a classically trained artist who works in oil, watercolor, metal point, fiber, sculpture, fresco, and fresco restoration, portraying the depth of her understanding of nature, patterns, and illumination, and the human spirit, her connection to the environment, and her spiritual practices. She received her MFA in Illustration, focusing on painting, from SCAD, The Savannah College of Art and Design University. 

As a lifelong educator, leader, and naturalist, Melissa has brought a multifaceted professional experience and a keen eye for detail in her current environmental work with Eco-Eleemosynary.

Jupiter’s Journey

About the Book

This is a story of a kind rabbit named Jupiter who sets out on a journey with his best friend, Sirius. Their journey is to a magical land called the Valley of the Jewels. On the journey, he meets many challenges that test his courage and overall confidence in himself. He comes into contact with the most unexpected guides and has experiences that teach him how to find inner freedom.

 About the Authors

Lama Lakshey Zangpo was born in Tibet and grew up in a nomadic community with nine siblings. He studied Buddhist academics at the prestigious Larung Gar University. After he graduated from the University of Larung Gar, he taught and served as Vice Principle at Sangdruk Tse School located in Amdo. In 2007 he came to the United States and studied English. Currently, he teaches at various universities and offers public talks to students nationwide. Lakshey Zangpo is married and has three children under the age of ten. He enjoys reading children books with them and is passionate about writing children’s books that provide messages of compassion and love. 

Megan Larson, LCSW is a psychotherapist, parent coach, and mindfulness guide. Her clinical work is influenced by current research on play therapy, neurobiology, and the mind-body connection. Megan finds inspiration from many different wisdom traditions, especially Tibetan Buddhism. She is featured in the book The Unexpected Power of Mindfulness and Meditation and is an ongoing writer and contributor for Awaken.com.
